The News section of the Speed Camera Locations site is no longer using Google's Blogger and is now part of this site. Migrating all the posts took some time but in the end, I'm happy with the result. There's features of Blogger that I lose such as comments, but my hope is that with the comments now part of the site, more people can be kept informed. The main reason for moving, is the amount of traffic Google Blogger is generating is now very small. Comparing the traffic from October 2023 to October 2024 shows the traffic has reduced by around 80%. Early on Google treated their own Blogger very favourable, but now it's largely a waste of time to use Blogger. I previously moved articles on one of my sites from Blogger to the site and I saw a considerable increase in traffic to the articles. I will miss the ability for people to leaves comments, but ultimately it's a trade off. If more people see the news posts then more people can benefit from the information I'm posting. Any additional benefit is the news posts were tagged but still part of a larger blog. Now all items related to news for Speed Camera Locations is just for Speed Camera Locations. If you would like to leave a comment you're welcome to write to me, or to leave a comment on the relevant video on my YouTube channel. Nearly all of the red light speed camera locations in Victoria have been videod by me and are on the channel. If there's sufficient interest I'll start using the community feature of YouTube so people can interact more if they wish. The Blogger blog will still remain so you're welcome to leave a comment there as well.
